Pets in Chatham

Hello,

I will be traveling to Chatham this coming June. We are bringing our small dog with us.

Could someone please recommend which beaches are the best to bring a dog to ? Or which ones don't allow dogs at all ?

Also, where I live (NYC) there are many restaurants that allow dogs when you eat at the outside tables. Are there any restaurants in Chatham that would allow dogs (when you sit at the outside tables of course) ?

Thank you very much for the help ! I want to make sure we all have a wonderful vacation !

while a pet lover myself, i suggest that you consider the problems you could bring upon a restaurant or store owner by bringing your pet with you. Dogs are animals, and no matter how well-behaved, things happen. If they do happen within the confines of a restaurant or store, the owner is responsible. It is her liability if your animal injures another patron while on her property. Additionaly, and hard as it may be to believe, there are people who are fearful of animals, regardless of how loving and harmless you hold them to be. Please consider those individuals and do not infringe on their rights to have a meal without worrying about your dog at the next table.

I'm sorry to tell you that Chatham beaches are closed to dogs during the summer.

When does "summer" end?
Is it possible to bring dogs to the beach after Labor Day?

Dogs are allowed at town landings all year round. You can get a list of town landings from the parks dept.
